How To Measure A Pool Table

There are several sizes of pool tables and it can be confusing trying to determine what size your pool table is. The outside dimensions vary from model to model but the play surface dimensions will be consistent and this is how you should measure.

Why do I need to measure my pool table?

There are a number of circumstances where you would need to measure your pool table but here are some of the most common reasons:

• To determine how much space the pool table will take up in your room
• To determine what size pool table cover will fit your table
• To determine what size felt you will need for recovering
• For use in selling your pool table

Unfortunately, pool table sizes don't really make a lot of sense. I always say they are a lot like dimensional lumber (i.e. a 2x4 is not really 2" x 4"). No need to worry though! We've put together a short video to help you out!
